Make the Most of Your Weekend with the SPICER Planner

Make the Most of Your Weekend with the SPICER Planner

A few weeks ago, I shared about the weekly planning feature of the SPICER Planner. Reflecting a bit on what I shared. I realized I missed explaining a crucial part of the weekly planning session ... the weekend recap. So today, I want to share with you how you can make the most of the weekend portion of the planner by reflecting on the week passed and preparing for the week ahead.

Before we get into the weekend sections of the SPICER Planner, I wanted to let you know that at the end of this video, I have a special announcement to share. We have something special in works for you about the future of the SPICER Planner. So stick around to hear the news!

Now I want to share a few points on why developing a practice of weekly reflection is not only a beneficial practice but also a healthy one.

Taking time at the end of the week to reflect on the progress made allows you to recognize your own strengths and weakness and use this to guide ongoing learning. In this time of reflection, you will develop a deeper understanding of your own personal patterns and behaviors. This is a big step in the process of improving or changing behaviors you aren't happy with.

Alright, now let's get into the planner.

Okay, so the first section of the weekend recap is dedicated to documenting any highlights you want to record for both Saturday and Sunday. You will notice right away that the space for Saturday and Sunday is significantly shorter than the weekdays. Here you can choose to just record any memorable moments that you want to remember in the future. Any fun family outings, accomplishments, or setbacks.

Then, directly under this is the weekly reflection time. Here you are provided with several prompt questions to guide you through how things went this week. Some of the questions are based on your performance and commitment to completing the tasks you set up for yourself to accomplish. The other questions are based on your commitment to working on your daily habits and whether you are progressing towards them. There is also a prompt to remind you to reward yourself each weekend when you meet your goals.

The purpose of this reflection time is to allow you to think about and meditate on your growth and progress. You can't honestly know how much progress you are making if you aren't taking the time to reflect and measure it. This is not a time for judgment or self-defamation. This is supposed to be a time of encouragement and discovery. If you didn't have a good week, learn why. What happened? Was there something you could have done differently, or was it entirely out of your control? How did you respond, and was your response appropriate? It's all about growth and learning from our mistakes.

Okay, there you have it. We have gone over the annual planning, monthly planning, weekly planning, daily planning, and now the weekend reflection time. The only thing left is to share about the end-of-the-year reflection. We will share about that very soon. In the meantime, as promised, I have a special announcement.

I have heard from a few of you and understand that our lives operate in quarters and not entire years in many ways. So we are excited to share that we will soon have a 3-month version of the SPICER Planner called a Snack Sized SPICER Planner. All the sections of the planner are included in the Snack Sized planner. The main difference is it is just focused on a quarter of time rather than an entire year, which for many is a much easier time frame to focus on. So look for an announcement soon with an official launch date.

Until then, have a fantastic week, and I look forward to chatting with you again soon.
